I’m Head of Design at TBWA Coastal and a multidisciplinary creative with a persistent curiosity about how things could be better, smarter or simply more interesting.

I’ve worked across photography, art direction, print, digital and interface design, social, startup branding, corporate identity systems and senior level FMCG brand systems. I move comfortably between strategy and making, turning a brief into a point of view, a thought into a visual language, and that language into work that makes people look twice.

Over the years, I’ve built a broad, hands on creative skillset. Photography, conceptualisation, design, layout, retouching, production and rollout all inform the way I approach art direction. I like understanding the whole picture: what the work needs, who needs to make it happen, which details matter, and how to bring everything together without losing the spark along the way.

I’m warm, collaborative and a little bit odd, usually in a useful way. I like solving problems, making complicated things simple, and finding the detail that makes something click. I’m comfortable under pressure, suspicious of unnecessary rules, and a big believer in good process, right up until it starts getting in the way of a good idea.

I care deeply about people, too. I enjoy working with clever, curious teams and mentoring designers who want to push their craft further, particularly those finding their way towards art direction. For me, good creative leadership is about giving people the confidence, guidance and space to make better work.

Ultimately, I like making things that connect, with a clear point of view, a strong idea behind them, and enough personality to be remembered.
